Disclaimer: A:RI uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. If you experience image quality issues though, deactivate the toggle in PS5 system settings to see if PSSR1 produces better results.

Both Pro and base PS5 target 60fps and utilize DRS before upscaling to 4K. However, Pro's DRS is a much higher 1080p-4K native, whereas base PS5's is only 1080p-1440p. Pro also upscales via PSSR1, which when combined with such a high internal resolution, resolves a much sharper image than base PS5's TSR (this IQ gap is then widened even further with PSSR2). Finally, aside from a sharper image, Pro also has greater lighting/volumetric fog fidelity and more realistic reflections/surfacing.
