Disclaimer: BG3 uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. If you experience image quality issues though, deactivate the toggle in PS5 system settings to see if PSSR1 produces better results.

Pro's performance mode looks better than even base PS5's quality mode due to upscalers used. PSSR is a little bit softer than base PS5's FSR, but much more stable with less artifacting/flickering. This instability is especially noticeable with assets in motion, such as moving shadows. Pro also has an approx 10% higher framerate, so manages to reach 60fps more often than base PS5 (especially important in later acts where base PS5 is particularly unstable). Finally, Pro can also run split screen at either 30fps or 60fps, compared to just 30fps on base PS5.
