Modes

fidelity: 1440p to 4K PSSR at a mostly locked 60fps, or typically around 70-90fps with VRR. Improved global illumination (biggest improvement), ambient occlusion, reflections and 2-4x shadow resolution compared to 120 Hz mode.

120 Hz refresh rate: 1440p to 4K TAA at a relatively stable 120fps. Graphics settings the same as base PS5's fidelity mode that runs at 60fps.

Extra Information

Disclaimer: B06 uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. Unfortunately, Digital Foundry reviewed B06 with PSSR2 toggled on and confirmed that the sparkly white dots are still just as prevalent in the same scenes.

The anti-lag VRR implementation in Pro's fidelity mode (120 Hz refresh rate toggled off) means it actually has lower input latency than the 120 Hz mode, despite fewer frames. Due to PSSR, there's noticeable artifacting/sparkly white dots that can appear in the fidelity mode. While a 2025 patch significantly reduced artifacting/white dots in some areas, they're still somewhat visible (unfortunately not fixed with PSSR2). Splitscreen multiplayer is now a locked 60fps (mid 50s on base PS5)
