fidelity: 1440p to 4K PSSR at a mostly locked 60fps, or typically around 70-90fps with VRR. Improved global illumination (biggest improvement), ambient occlusion, reflections and 2-4x shadow resolution compared to 120 Hz mode.
120 Hz refresh rate: 1440p to 4K TAA at a relatively stable 120fps. Graphics settings the same as base PS5's fidelity mode that runs at 60fps.
Disclaimer: B07 uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. If you experience image quality issues though, deactivate the toggle in PS5 system settings to see if PSSR1 produces better results.
'The anti-lag VRR implementation in Pro's fidelity mode (120 Hz refresh rate toggled off) means it actually has lower input latency than the 120 Hz mode, despite fewer frames. Splitscreen multiplayer is now a locked 60fps (mid 50s on base PS5). Base PS5 120 Hz mode is less stable than Pro's and also runs at a lower, more 1008p-1080p resolution. Base PS5 fidelity mode has a similar resolution, but still looks less stable due to Pro's good PSSR implementation.'
