Extra Information

Disclaimer: GoW:R uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. If you experience image quality issues though, deactivate the toggle in PS5 system settings to see if PSSR1 produces better results.

Pro has improved shadows/reflections (less noisy etc) over base PS5. The internal resolution for base PS5's 60 HZ mode is only 1440p compared to Pro's 1620p, and its 120 HZ mode internally renders at 1080p compared to Pro's 1440p. Pro also uses PSSR to upscale to 4K, which results in sharper foliage/textures compared to base PS5's FSR3. Base PS5 is usually around 20fps lower than Pro in their 120 HZ modes (drops to 70fps), though both consoles maintain a locked 60fps in their 60 Hz modes.

Between the same 1440p internal resolution and the superior PSSR upscale, Pro's 120 HZ mode is actually sharper than base PS5's 60 HZ mode, with better graphics settings, at nearly 2x the framerate.
