Disclaimer: SM2 uses PSSR1 natively, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. However, as of September 26, the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle (which forces PSSR2 upscaling) is activated by default. PSSR2 was made the default because it resolves a sharper, more stable image and removes PSSR1's film grain-like noise. If you experience image quality issues though, deactivate the toggle in PS5 system settings to see if PSSR1 produces better results.
Base PS5 also has dynamic resolution scaling, but instead uses FSR2 to upscale its modes and have a lower base resolution before upscaling (e.g. 720p for speed mode). The result is a noticeably blurrier image compared to the Pro versions, especially in motion where PSSR excels. Pro also hits 60fps more often, though it's still not ideal as it can fall out of the VRR window.
